Reflexology in Cancer Care
A gentle, deeply calming therapy tailored for women living with cancer, navigating medical treatment, or moving through recovery.
A cancer diagnosis changes everyday life in an instant. The physical demands of the illness and its treatments can bring pain, deep exhaustion, digestive upset, altered sensation, and nerve sensitivity. Just as significantly, the mental and emotional toll can be heavy—leaving you stuck in your head, constantly managing appointments, worry, and fatigue.
As a complementary therapy, reflexology works safely alongside your conventional medical care to soothe symptoms, ease physical tension, and quiet a busy mind. Using gentle touch on the feet, sessions are designed to settle the nervous system and help your body remember what true relaxation feels like, offering emotional comfort when you need it most. Pressure and techniques are always adapted to how you feel on the day—respecting skin tenderness, fragile tissue, energy levels, and changes in sensation with gentle, soothing care.
Reflexology Can Help With
- Easing worry, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm
- Mental fatigue, overthinking, and racing thoughts
- Managing pain, general aches, and physical tension

Timing Care Around Your Treatments
Reflexology can be safely received at almost any stage, provided you feel well enough on the day and we work in harmony with your medical team:
- Before Chemotherapy or Procedures: Calms anticipatory anxiety, settles the nervous system, and helps prepare the body.
- During Active Treatment Cycles: Focuses on soothing immediate side effects, easing nausea, and providing gentle, nurturing rest.
- After Treatment & Recovery: Supports your body’s natural rhythm to rebalance, rebuild energy, and recover.
Support for Family and Carers
A cancer diagnosis doesn't affect just one person—it places immense emotional and physical strain on partners, family members, and caregivers who are holding everything together. Reflexology is equally open to carers needing a dedicated, restful pause to release accumulated stress, quiet their own minds, and replenish depleted energy.
What to Expect
Reflexology is performed gently on the feet while you rest fully clothed under a warm blanket—only your shoes and socks are removed.
A brief consultation allows us to discuss your treatment history, any specific symptoms, and areas you would like support with. Techniques and pressure are always light, comforting, and adapted to your comfort on the day.
Reflexology is a complementary therapy that works alongside your medical care to help ease physical and emotional symptoms. It does not cure cancer or replace conventional treatment.
Safety & Contraindications
Every session is carefully adapted around your medical plan and how you feel on the day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is reflexology safe during cancer treatment?
Yes. Gentle touch on the feet cannot cause cancer cells to circulate or spread to other parts of the body.
Will it interfere with my chemotherapy or medications?
No. Reflexology does not speed up how your kidneys filter medication, so it will not dilute or wash chemotherapy out of your system.
Can I still have reflexology if I’ve had surgery or lymph nodes removed?
Yes. Because the treatment is performed solely on your feet, we can safely help your body rest and find balance without pressing directly on sensitive scars, surgical sites, or areas where lymph nodes were removed.
What if I have sensitive skin, peripheral neuropathy, or low energy?
The pressure, duration, and pace are always adjusted for you. If your feet are tender or you are feeling especially fatigued, techniques remain light, comforting, and holding so you can simply rest.
